The purpose of a mentor is to provide direction, instruction, supports, and counseling to the mentee. Mentors should have years of experience and a treasure trove of knowledge that their, likely younger, mentees haven’t yet acquired. It’s important that mentors have experience you can learn from. The guidance and criticism provided has one main purpose – provide direction to towards achieving the goals of the mentee.
